Giving gifts or just giving anything, is my love language. I love to give. I’ve been cleaning out and decluttering prior to COVID at Christmas. I would post on FB for free, but must pick up from front porch. I had a lot of stuff out there and I’m nowhere near finished.
People would ask how much I wanted for it, and I always say free. I was raised and surrounded by givers. I think it shaped me into who I am today. My husband is the same way. So he understands my heart, and feels the same. My oldest daughter (24), Kennedy, is always giving to homeless and anyone else she knows is in need.

I have people who have suggested selling what I have, but my philosophy is that I have been blessed my entire life to have all of my needs and most of my wants met. My family helped to support me when I was a teen mom. They babysat, they bought diapers, they did all they could to help me. We didn’t make a lot of money at 17 years old. I think I made about $4.25/hour. Still, all of my needs were met.
If I can help someone else, my heart is happy. So, with the 2 little kids, we regularly clean their toys and clothes out. Most times we donate to the foster kid closet or to my friends with little ones. They are used to going through their toys and knowing they are going to little kids who may not have toys. Tonight, my 7 year old impressed me. She’s been paying attention to what is important in life which is helping others.
The other day Kimber came downstairs and was so excited. She said the tooth fairy had left her money. She has a little stand that lights up, and when the light is on, the tooth fairy knows to stop. So when she brought me the dime (that’s it, just a dime), I am guessing that I just put it in the tooth stand when I was cleaning off her nightstand.

Tonight I went in her room, and she was so excited. She wrote a note, and put it on her nightstand with about $2 with it. It’s for the tooth fairy to pick up and take to other kids who may need it. I’m claiming this as a Mom WIN! Math, Science, English, History… that’s all important. In addition to that, teach your kids to be good humans. They are the ones who will change the world.
