How young are your kids when you let them choose their clothes?

By

Kimber (8 years old) is picking out her own clothes. I’m silently screaming 😱 inside. She asked me what I thought about this outfit. I sent her back up to get socks so I could get a picture. Dolly for President 2020 shirt. Gray and white striped cardigan with a pink heart on the elbow. Unicorn leggings.

She said, “does it match?”
I said, “it’s beautiful.”

What do you say? Do you send her out looking crazy 🤪 and let her be herself and her own style? Or protect her from meanie kids?

I want to build self confidence and not tear it down, so I’m letting her wear her choice. That’s her new thing. She picks it out and I try not to cringe. No, I don’t TRY…I do NOT cringe in front of her.

Mom’s what do you do?
