River came home with 1 glove a few days ago. When asked where his other glove was he said he gave it to his friend on the bus. I could hear his daddy saying, “River, don’t be giving your things away on the bus. You need to get that back.” I am hearing this conversation taking place from a distance and wondering why just 1 glove. Then it dawned on me…tender hearted and caring little River.

I said, “River…did your friend have cold hands?” He said, “yes…they were FREEZING.. he couldn’t even feel them.” So, that little kiddo 🥺, took one of his gloves off so that his friend could have a warm hand. If that’s not being a friend, I don’t know what is. That’s a good lesson from a 5 year old. (Of course we made sure the kid had a pair of gloves and River said he did, but just forgot them that day.)
