Jimmy Buffett…I hated to hear the news when i woke up 9/2/23. Tbe passing of a legend.

I remember him being my 1st “crush” (I couldn’t even pronounce his last name correctly), and getting to see him perform live at Carowinds when I was 5 or 6 years old.
His music and live performance shaped and instilled in me the love of hearing music being played live and the feeling of being surrounded by others who were singing along and coming together to share the same interest. I didn’t realize that was what I loved about it at the time I am sure, but I knew there was a difference in being there in person and hearing it on vinyl.
Beach trips made back and forth with friends when we were supposed to be hanging out at the lake, we listened to nothing but JB for hours upon hours on the road trips back and forth and anytime in between. We did a lot of “cruising,” boating, swimming, drinking, lounging, hanging out, and most anything else you can imagine while listening to Jimmy. My best friend and I were roommates and even had a bird we named flip-flop.
I’m glad my husband and I were able to see him a few years ago on NYE 2017 right after we were engaged. It was still a party and a heck of a show.
It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere.
Enjoy that Cheeseburger in Paradise!
RIP “Jimmy Bucket”!
